Swan are very keen to recruit drivers at the moment...

Particularly in areas such as, Bath, Keynsham and rural parts of B&NES. Do you know anyone who likes driving and would enjoy helping their local community by transporting people to appointments, events or activities?

We would also be very glad to hear of any thoughts or ideas you have which may help us to recruit more drivers.

Swan Transport had a very successful Fashion Show...

Carol Curtis, one of Swan’s volunteer drivers organised another very successful charity fashion show, which was hosted by M&Co in Midsomer Norton to raise funds for SWAN. The event took place in the store on 26th September and it raised just over £430. The event would not have been possible without the 18 volunteers from the local area who modelled on the night, showcasing M&Co’s clothes to the delight of the audience. The Swan Chairman was modelling the men’s range on the night, so all eyes were on Chris being the only man in the modelling team. Organiser Carol even had her own moment, surprising us by coming out to model at the end of the show accompanied by Chris and Swan’s office volunteer Anna on either side of her, getting lots of claps and cheers.

Suzie, the M&Co compere and all the store staff made everyone feel very welcome and even made tea for the drivers, which was much appreciated as they had transported people to the show and couldn’t enjoy a glass of wine. A fantastic raffle and tombola added extra to the event and gifts were donated from a number of Radstock and Midsomer Norton shops and individuals.

Swan’s thanks go to: Bike it, Hair Razor, McColl’s, Bath Dancewear, No 10 Café, Headlines, Jacarandas, Wetherspoon’s, Keith Ingram shoes, Essence café, Oils & Coils, Pure Beauty, Midsomer Norton DIY, Rose Craft and a number of individuals. Sarah Oughton, Swan’s Volunteer Transport Co-ordinator said “We would like to thank all the people who supported us on the night, including Carol and all those who gave their time to make the event a great success” .

Do you shop online and would like Swan to get the benefit of a small donation?

Using Ebay checkout could support our charity’s work:

If you use Ebay to buy goods online, you may have noticed during the checkout process that a charity appears at the bottom of the screen that you can choose to make a donation to if you prefer. Swan has now registered with both Paypal and Ebay, so if you wanted to choose Swan as your Favourite Charity on Ebay, we would appear during the checkout process whenever you buy something on Ebay. This gives you the option if you wanted, to occasionally donate a small sum like £1 or £2 towards our transport scheme.

To make us your Favourite Charity, Go to Ebay.co.uk and login as normal, then click on My Ebay. You will appear on the ‘Activity’ tab in My Ebay - click over to the Account tab. In the left hand menu near the bottom click on Donation account, then above where it says ‘Pending Donations’ there is a little tab called ‘Dashboard’, click next to it onto Favourites and search for Swan Advice Network, which is our official charity name. Finally you click on Add to My Favourites located below this. It should then show a heart symbol with 'My Favourite Charity' next to it and you are all set!

Swan Transport Christmas Meal

23 Volunteers and Staff, from Swan Transport - including 19 of our Drivers, attended our annual Christmas meal on Wednesday 6th December. The meal took place at the Centurion Hotel in Westfield again and the conservatory we were in had wonderful views out over the golf course! The staff were all very helpful and friendly and everybody really enjoyed their meal – a big thanks to our volunteers for all their hard work this year!
